5 Fantastic Festivals You Can Visit In Your RV

Vacationing in your RV is about as American as apple pie. Many people only take their RV’s camping or to national monuments, but there is so much more fun to be had if you own a recreational vehicle. Make your next RV trip one for the record books and take the family to one of these five exciting festivals held around the North American continent each year. Since you’ll be traveling in the comfort of your RV, you’ll avoid the hassle and extra cost of trying to book a hotel during these busy events. Save yourself time and money by making an adventure of your next family vacation and visit some of these incredible festivals in your RV.

South Beach WINE & FOOD Festival: (Mid February) South Beach, Florida. Join the culinary world’s top stars at the beach for some five star eats and non-stop fun presented by WINE & FOOD magazine. You can tour over 50 venues that offer food and drinks prepared and inspired by your favorite Food Network celebrity chefs. Also, proceeds from the event go to benefit the Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality. You can sample food, wine, and spirits from over 100 suppliers, including over 40 different restaurants each day.

Banana Split Festival: (June) Wilmington, Ohio. Can’t get enough of this all American dessert? Have your fill over at the Wilmington Banana Split festival. Join the lively folk of this community in celebrating the glory of the banana split. This quiet, Midwestern town is famously known as the birthplace of the banana split, which was invented by restaurant owner Ernest Hazard in 1907. Along with all of the splits you can eat, there are galleries of mid-century collectibles, arts and crafts, and a muscle car show.

Lexington Barbecue Festival: (October) Lexington, North Carolina. Tons of the world’s best, authentic Lexington style barbecue eats will be served up for one day only at this iconic festival. Take your RV over to Lexington, or as it’s known to the natives, the “Barbecue Capital of the World” and enjoy tons of activities, including an ax throwing contest, pig themed arts and crafts, a parade, and a chainsaw chopping contest —  almost too much fun to be packed into just one day. This is a great place festival to take your kids to as they have rides and carnival booths as well!

Niagara Ice Wine Festival: (Mid January) St. Catharine’s, ON, Canada. Enjoy a wide variety of sweet ice wines while taking in beautiful Niagara and experience Canadian culture.  Wineries from around the US and Canada come together here to showcase their best ice wines. For anyone with a sweet tooth and a love for wine, and for those Americans who want to experience a little bit of Canada, this festival is a “don’t miss.”

New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival: (Late April through early May) New Orleans, Louisiana. A lot of people only associate New Orleans with Mardi Gras, but this iconic American city has so much more to offer. Take in some world-class Jazz and rock music over 12 stages from today’s top performers at this memorable festival. Come for the unparalleled array of music and stay for the unique culture of one of America’s most culturally rich cities.
