People take aesthetics very seriously and so they should. It takes time to build customers trust when it comes to cosmetics products. To ensure that you build customers trust you firstly need a good product and multiple real reviews. Once the word is out that your products are safe, effective and respectable, then your brand influence will increase. You may want to collaborate with experts such as doctors and chemist to ensure your products are safe and evidence based. Additionally it is paramount to obtain all licenses and comply with all the legislations and guidelines from the regularly therapeutic board in the country that you are selling your goods.
Like any brand, great marketing is essential. For me I had a strong base with my social media and instagram which enabled me to get the word out. I also collaborated with other influencers to promote my cosmetics products Consider advertisements through different platforms.
It is essential to consider your target audience. For example is there particular demographic that you are aiming to target. In my cosmetics line ( Dr Yusof Cosmetics) all my products are natural, Australian made and Vegan. These qualities identifies with those people who prefer vegan and natural products that are made locally.
It is important to consider how you well sell your product. Will it be an online store, or actual physical shop? Will you sell products to salon, day spas or ship overseas? These are all part of the business strategy that needs to be considered to ensure development of the cosmetics line
Remember when starting your cosmetics line, there are lots of competitors out there so try to be different and develop a niche. This will distinguish you from the crowd. I sometimes post education videos about cosmetic medicine and dermatology which helps build an audience and educate people.
It is important to note that creating and developing a cosmetic line requires hard work and time, however if it’s something that you are interested in, it can be rewarding and fun at the same time.
