About SAT and CAT Exam
The Scholastic Aptitude Test SAT and the Common Admission Test CAT is a like a common entrance examination. Both of these exams are conducted for providing admissions and merit-based scholarships to the students. These two exams are same and the scores of these exams are used for getting admissions to various colleges.
The SAT Exam
This is a common written test which score is considered as one of the eligibility constraints in many college admissions. The test structure of SAT exam includes four main sections such as reading, writing & language, math, and essay. In this, the essay section is optional. The time duration of SAT exam with the essay is 3 hours and 50 minutes and without the essay is 3 hours. It is scored on a scale of 400 to 1600
The CAT Exam
CAT exam is similar to the SAT exam. The major difference is that it has a science section whereas SAT has a math section. It has English, reading, math, science reasoning and essay. The time duration of CAT exam with essay is 3 hours and 40 minutes and without essay is 2 hours and 55 minutes. It is scored on a scale of 1 to 36.

The preparation of both these exams is quite same as these include the same syllabus except math and science. There are common preparation materials are available for these exams.
