The kitchen is the heart of any home, but the truth is that it gets dirty fast. If neglected, aside from basic wiping down and washing up, your cooking zone can get dirty quickly. Forget the long weekend cleaning marathons – you can deep-clean it in 15 min a day. Keep your kitchen clean without those hours on the weekend.

15 min a day isn’t much time, but it is enough to tackle your space from top to bottom. And in that time you can not only wipe down the surfaces, but clean all the kitchen appliances. If you think that 15 min a day are not enough, follow these tips below and ease your life.

● Microwave

The best way to clean the microwave oven is to place wet paper towels inside and run it on High for 5 minutes. The steam from the towels will soften the grime. To deodorize, combine 1/2 cup of lemon and 1 cup of water in a measuring cup or bowl and heat it on High for 3 minutes. Let it stand in the microwave oven for 10 minutes before removing. You can use lemons to clean your refrigerator too.

● Coffee Pot

The coffee maker comes with a glass jug that quickly develop a brown haze, especially when you leave it on for a longer period of time. You can clean it using lemon, salt and ice. Fill it a quarter full of ice, and squeeze 1/2 lemon into the jug. Add 2 spoons of salt and swirl the mixture in the jug for 2 min. Then rinse the jug under the tap.

● Cast-Iron Pan

If the pan will not rinse clean with water and a soft dishcloth, rub it with a some spoons of salt and a paper towel and rinse.

● Food Grater

Clean the food grater using a clean pastry brush. It will remove everything left behind in the small grates.
