Try Out Some Home-Made Chocolates This Christmas

Christmas is a very special time of the year. Apart from being historically significant as the birthday of Jesus Christ, it is also very near to the winter solstice which means that days become longer. This festival is celebrated with great pomp in many parts of the world. Christmas is a time for families. Parents take their kids to visit their grandparents, a few travel back to their parents and family, and some have family members packed in every room of their house – all in all, Christmas time is family time! However, due to other emergent obligations and sometimes distance, we often tend to miss out spending Christmas with our family. But that does not mean that you have no way of telling them how much your family means to you! All you have to do is buy chocolates online, make a gift basket and send it over.

If you want to add a special touch to a basket full of store bought chocolates, then here’s a suggestion. Chocolates are fairly easy to make, even at home. All you have to do is get the right ingredients in the correct amounts. You can make a box of homemade chocolates, which will be pure delights. All you have to do is follow the easy steps marked out below and you will have a homemade chocolate ready in no time. Then you can combine the ones from the market and your homemade ones and send the chocolate by post.

Ingredients: You will need cocoa powder (2 cups), sugar (half a cup), butter (quarter of a cup), milk (two third of a cup), plain flour (one fourth tsp), water (1 cup) and powdered sugar (one fourth of a cup).

Step 1: Take the butter and the cocoa powder and blend it well in a blender or processor. Make sure that you get a paste like consistency.

Step 2: Take a pan and fill one fourth of it with water. Take a bowl and place it on top of it.

Step 3: Pour the paste from the blender into the bowl and keep on heating the set up till it becomes hot.

Step 4: Now take out the mixture and blend it some more till it becomes completely smooth.

Step 5: Add sugar, flour, milk into this smooth mixture and blend well. Make sure that the milk has been heated to the right temperature.

Step 6: Keep the moulds in hand. Now that the mixture is smooth and of the right consistency, pour it into moulds. Having done that, place it in the freezer till they become completely hard.

That’s it! Your homemade chocolate is now ready!

Now that you have your homemade chocolates ready, you can place them in nice toffee bags and add them to the gift basket. Make sure you add a note to let the receiver know which ones are the homemade ones. You can even experiment with flavours once you get a grip on how to make chocolates at home. The personal touch of adding homemade chocolates to the basket would really brighten up the day of your loved ones!
