How To Prepare For Your Upcoming Trip To London

London is such an exciting and vibrant city with so much to see and do, so if you have an upcoming trip booked, you should be very excited! There are a few things you can do to prepare, so you know that you can just remove any unnecessary stress that might occur with last minute planning and enjoy your time in London. From booking a few attractions and restaurants to writing your packing list and getting transport sorted, it’s time to get ready for your trip!

Book Your Transport

The first thing you should get sorted when visiting London is your transport. If you are flying to London, then you can easily get the tube from Heathrow in zone 6 to central London in zone 1 for around £6. The underground system in London is really fantastic, so this is definitely a great way to get into London and also to travel around during your visit.

If you are driving into London, then there are so many great car parks that are really secure all over the city. Care Park are a great one, as they have locations around London with security, CCTV and completely secure entrances and exits. Again, booking in advance is a great idea so everything is sorted!

No matter how you are planning to get to London, getting your transport booked or route planned as early as possible is always advised!

Book Attractions and Restaurants

Another thing that you will need to do is book some of the attractions and restaurants you will want to visit.

Firstly, with attractions in London, things can get booked up quite far in advance, so you want to make sure that you are booking your tickets far in advance. Some of the attractions are free to go and see or you don’t need to book in advance, but for many, you will need to. So, research which attractions you know you want to go and see and if you can book in advance, we would definitely recommend it. Not only will this take the stress away, but it can also save you money, as buying in advance online is often much cheaper than paying on the day, and you may be able to cut out a few queues!

In terms of restaurants, again, there will be restaurants that you can walk into and there is probably no need to book for lunches unless you have somewhere specific in mind. However, for your evening meals, booking is definitely advised. The majority of people in London will book tables in advance, unless they are visiting places that don’t take bookings. So, if you have particular restaurants in mind, particularly in the busier tourist areas of London, make sure to book a table online. This will make sure you don’t end up disappointed!

Write A Packing List

Another thing you will need to do to prepare is write a packing list. The main thing to consider is the weather! Even if you have a look at the weather forecast and it looks like the weather will be a certain way, it is England remember, so you will need to pack for all eventualities! So, make sure you pack an umbrella first and foremost and then pack for the weather that is predicted. On top of this to make sure you’re covered, pack items that can easily be mixed and matched, then add a few items for warmer weather (a pair of shorts and sandals) and a few for cooler weather (a couple of thin tops that you can layer) to your suitcase.

The beauty of London is that the shopping is some of the best in the world, so if you do find yourself in very rare weather, then you can easily pick up what you need!
