Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is a national level test which is conducted for candidates seeking admission in management programs. Above one hundred institutes in India consider the XAT score card for admission in MBA programs. XAT Registration 2018 will start in the month of August 2017.
Registration for XAT that is to be held in 2018 can be done via online mode through their official website. Candidates who want to register without paying any late fee amount should get it done by last week of November 2017. The online portal will allow candidates to register till the second week of December 2017 against the payment of a late fee. Once registration is done, candidates must take printout of the confirmation page for future use.

- Create an Account: In order to create an account, the candidate will need to visit the official website of XAT. Then search for apply link and click on apply now button and on the option that says ‘register’. After this is done, the email id of the candidate needs to be entered and a password created. After this the candidate needs to click on the ‘create new account’ tab.
- Complete XAT application form: Candidates who are willing to apply for the MBA program offered by XLRI should select the program as per their preference or else should skip this step. Then the personal details should be entered which must include name, email id, mobile number, father/mother’s name, category, date of birth, visually handicapped status and Kashmiri migrant status. Once all the personal details are filled, then the contact details must be entered which include a mailing address and permanent address details. After this, the qualification details should be entered and work experience if any should also be entered. Then check the box beside ‘I Agree’ needs to be clicked followed by the final submission button.
- Scanned image upload: In this step, the scanned image of the candidate’s photograph and signature should be uploaded. Make sure that the size of the image does not exceed 1 MB. The format of the image should be in JPEG with the file name of signature and photograph as sign.jpeg and photo.jpeg. Colored passport size photographs are preferred against a white or light colored background. The signature should be done in small letters with black ink in a white paper and the image resolution must be 200 dpi. In order to upload images, click on “Upload a file” under the image upload option. Upload the photograph and signature one at a time.
- Payment of Fees: The payment of fees can be done either by using Master Card / VISA, IDBI net banking and credit/debit card or by paying in cash in the nearest IDBI Bank. Also, payment can be made via demand draft in favor of XLRI Jamshedpur from any bank. In case the payment is made via cash; then the same should be updated in the application form. If the payment is made via demand draft, then the candidate will need to send the demand draft along with confirmation page to the address mentioned on the website.
These are some of the simple steps that you can take to complete the registration process of XAT. After this is done, the candidate will have to wait for the XAT admit card which is expected to be issued in the 3rd week of December 2017. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website of XAT by clicking on the ‘Download Admit Card’ link and by entering registration ID and password. Take a printout of the admit card as it contains all vital information related to the exam and can be used for future requirements.
